Now the evening falls asunder
And the night is drawing nigh,
Shadows now are long and wanting
Slipping quietly into night
As the darkness slowly gathers
Light is gone from the sky
Stars begin to shine and wonder
Soon all will be asleep
May we live a life from strife
And from angers shy away
Guard us with thy watchful eyes
That our hearts be pure and wise
As we lay down to sleep
Whatever we say and do
We may find our rest from weary
As we lift our hearts on high,
Now this day of work is over
And the stars shines through once more
Whom with the Spirit we adore
Forever and forevermore.
As you watch ore my bed
Thy protection you shall spread
Our walk with you we have trod,
Shall give glory to our God.
