As I prepare to enter my 45th year of ministry, twenty-two years as bishop, and retirement draws nigh, I look back. There are over 5000 hymns in the Anglican faith, not all written by Anglicans, but the words of the authors helped me hold my faith in Gods service and I thought that I will share them with you. You may not know all of them but if you take a peek, you will find if you research them that you will see how they impacted the faith. Most of the authors have passed on centuries ago, but their everlasting impact remains with us.

I have selected 45 hymns (one for each year) that meant so much to me, and as you look at them, you too may reflect how what they meant to you. Hymns are not only for singing but for reading the joy they bring. Take a look and you may find the joy I shared all these years. You will see why they are called “Hymns of Faith.”

All People that on Earth do Dwell
Angels Voices Ever Singing
All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name
At the Name of Jesus
Awake My Soul and With the Sun
Be Thou My Guardian and My Guide
Blest Be the Tie that Binds
Christ has Made the Sure Foundation
Come Gracious Spirit
Come Down O Love Divine
Come Thou Almighty King
Come Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain
Come Ye Thankful People Come
Fight the Good Fight
Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer
God of Grace and Glory
Heavenly Sunlight
How Firm a Foundation
Hark, My Soul! It is the Lord!
Holy Spirit Font of Light
I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord
Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise
Jesus Shall Reign
Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
Let All the World in Every Corner Sing
Loving Shepherd of Thy Sheep
Lord, I Would Own Thy Tender Care
My God, How Wonderful Thou Art
My Faith has Found a Resting Place
New Every Morning is the Love
Now Thank Thee All, Our God
O God, Our Help in Ages Past
O Worship the King
O Trinity, Most Blessed Light
O Thou Who Makes Our Souls to Shine
O For a Closer Walk with God
Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven
Rescue the Perishing
Sun of My Soul
Sweet Hour of  Prayer
Take Up Thy Cross, the Savior Said
The King of Love My Shepherd Is
The Strife is O’er, the Battle Won
Through All the Changing Scenes of Life
When Morning Guilds the Skies
Ye Holy Angels Bright  .
