Beloved in Christ,
I have much appreciation and thanks to all for given me the time to fully embrace my retirement. While not effective until December 31, rest was needed as it brought energy to this traveled soul.
As Christmas draws near, we think of those in California who suffered from the devastating fires that claimed much, and those around the country who fell to the hands of Lawless and depraved murderers. We pray Gods mercy be with them all.
After missing last year due to residential transition, our Festival of 20.000 Lights returns. Pass by and have a look between 5:00 pm and Midnight each evening, (110 Oxford, FH) Thanksgiving to December 31st.

As I heard the wonderful tributes given at my retirement service I pondered how blest I have been in this life. There were highs and lows, yet there’s no regrets. Much I traveled with my political oriented Dad. I have visited some 76 countries, (some just stop-over’s but yet a visit adding up to a wonderful life, it was a blessing. I have traveled all the Caribbean and most of Europe
which is like traveling the USA state-by-state which I have done except Idaho
Beginning in the 70‘s I explored AFRICA visiting
Botswana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Nigeria, Somalia, South-Africa, South-Sudan, Uganda.

Beloved in Christ, our retirement service was a blessing and well attended by pastors, area church delegations, and community leaders. (It pleased me that a bugler did not play “Taps” after all the nice things were said!)
Not many who came believed I was retiring, but I explained I was not leaving the ministry, just the administrative duties of the ACW. New leaders, to whom I shall give my full support, are now in place.
I have lived in the Bellville community for the past 22 years and have developed many spiritual and personal relationships. Therefore, with the House Of Bishops’ permission, I shall take the charge as Dean of the Cathedral here at the Good Shepherd ......
