Patriarch's Vision > Jerusalem!

Jerusalem!

William Blake, British poet born in London in 1757, was familiar with the stories associated with Glastonbury and the presence of the Messiah in the British Isles. In his beautiful poem entitled Jerusalem, a British anthem of the sort of the United States’ perineal favorite, “America.” Blake pens his thoughts in a tender and loving way:

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the Holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?

And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

In these words, he relives the custom and history of the Church of Jerusalem being planted at Glastonbury by the uncle of Jesus, Joseph of Arimathea, in 36 AD. From there it spread through the Isles and held to the theology and liturgy of our Lord and His Apostles for six centuries before becoming corrupted by Roman influence.  By the time of the English Reformation, there was no longer a Church of England, but a Church of Rome growing like a invasive vine in such a rich garden.

It is time for us to re-examine our founding at Glastonbury and the doctrines preached from the Holy Scripture, as Jesus and His apostles preached them, and decide whether we are a mission of the True Church at Jerusalem, or the offspring of the Cult of Rome. Articles 20 and 21 of The 39 Articles of Religion tell us that Holy Scripture is above all tradition of man. I think we should become good “Bereans” and test what we hear about the weekly calendar, the holidays (Holy Days) we celebrate, as opposed to the ones God has commanded to be celebrated by all people, for all eternity, that we don’t.
