Synod 2020 has been postponed due to Covid-19, but our agenda moves forward. On June 15, 2020, our full notes on the synod will be posted, but we must address this further.
There is a group called “wac” that claims its heritage from ACW lineage. We have NO relations with the “wac”, and we believe them to be predators who, each time we place a name on our website, contact them to join “wac”. They stole our logo and claim as their own many elements of the ACW tradition including the names of our beloved first and third Patriarchs, Archbishops McGuire and Waterman, both of whose vestments (including the 100 year old vestments, Miter, Cape & Shoes handed down to us of Archbishop McGuire) proudly rest in the Cathedral of Good Shepherd.
Their internet profile shows more bishops than the church of England--98% of whom are not Anglican. They have damaged the reputation of the faith. We welcome anyone who takes up the task of spreading the Gospel, but this cannot be done with false internet postings about places where no congregational fellowships exist. A large number of fake internet posting are no fruit of ministry. We will not scourge them as they will soon be going away.
All ACW members are welcome to dialogue with whomever they chose, but do so with a wary eye.
